These dedicated vets truly saved her life

Written by Jim and Debbi Smith | Bennington, VT Hospital: Capital District Veterinary Referral Hospital

Last Wednesday our dog Kodah started coughing up blood. We called our local vet and brought her in early Thursday momorning. My vet called and said she had no platelets and he could not stop the bleeding. We were referred to Capital District and rushed her down to Latham. On Friday she was given various drugs but nothing was working. Dr. Berger, Dr. Tuffy and Dr. Gavin worked with her and gave her a transfusion that saved her life. Her care was amazing and these dedicated vets truly saved her life. We were able to bring her home Saturday night. Today she had a check up and her platelet count was 552,000! God bless you for saving her. You were wonderful to Kodah and we can’t thank you enough. A special thanks to Dolly. We are so grateful!
