Thanks so much for saving her!Written by Callie's family - Rebecca, Colleen & Rick Jones, and Nikko | Littleton, MA Hospital: Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital
Our vet had observed possible foreign material in Callie’s stomach x-ray Friday afternoon. We’d both hoped it would pass on it’s own, but she appeared to worsen Saturday afternoon. Our vet advised me to bring her directly to you (Mass Vet) if she showed any signs of pain or vomiting at all over the weekend, telling me that you could provide the best possible care for her.
I am so glad she did! You gave her supportive care, also hoping it would pass, and when it didn’t, performed surgery on Sunday morning. Thanks to Dr. Ehrlich, Dr. Allen, and Dr. Hillman, she’s home, and doing extremely well – not bad for an 11-year old senior dog who had a stomach full of seaweed & reeds from our lake. Except for a shaved belly and bunch of stitches, you’d never know that a week ago, she was in very bad shape.
Thanks so much for saving her, and taking such great care of her, and me. The tremendous skill and care of everyone we encountered, from the folks at the reception desk, to the doctors and techs who treated her and called us with regular updates several times daily, spoke with us when we visited her, and handled all the paperwork and billing, was unbelievable. It made a tough time easier, both for us, and for Callie. It was so great to know that you were also communicating with our local vet, so that she could continue Callie’s care here at home. If she or her mate, Nikko, ever have another after hours emergency, or need a specialist, at the advice of our regular local vet, we’ll definitely take the long drive to Woburn again. Thanks again so much!
