Ellie is alive today because of the care she received

Written by Elizabeth Cannon | Wilmington, MA Hospital: Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital

My 5 1/2  year old yorkie Elliemae had not been eating (not unusual not a big eater anyway) and very lethargic. After three days of this I took her to my regular vet, he was on vaca, and I swear the covering vet knew what was wrong. She drew blood said they would do tests in-house and get back to me in a few hours. She called two hours later and said I had to get Ellie to a hospital NOW she was in renal failure. So I took her here and they saved her life.

The kidney failure was the result of a bacterial infection lepto which i later found out is preventable there is an optional vaccine for this. Dr. Dianne Phillips THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart, my Ellie is alive today because of the wonderful care she received 5 nights in the ICU – expensive but worth every dime.

To all reading this….PLEASE GET YOUR DOG VACCINATED AGAINST THIS DEADLY DISEASE!!!  What Ellie and I went through was horrific to say the least…she is alive and well but the kidney damage may be permanent. Dont let this happen to your dog!!!  Research it online LEPTOSPIROSIS.
