Department Hours: Emergency: 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.

Dr. Sam Stewart is originally from the Hudson Valley region of upstate New York. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at Binghamton University in New York. He then attended veterinary school in the Caribbean at the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, finishing his degree in 2013. Dr. Stewart completed a small animal rotating surgical and medical internship at Garden State Veterinary Specialists in Tinton Falls, NJ in 2014. He joined the Emergency and Critical Care team at Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital in Woburn, MA in July 2014 as a resident. He completed his residency and was accepted as a Diplomate in the American College of Emergency and Critical Care in 2017. He then joined the Boston West team in July 2017.

I addition to his clinical work, Dr. Stewart is also involved with clinical research through the Ethos Diagnostic Science arm of Ethos Veterinary Health. He is currently conducting a study looking at new methods of antibiotic delivery in dogs experiencing sepsis and is always looking for new and exciting research opportunities to help further the knowledge and capabilities of veterinary medicine.

When not in the hospital Dr. Stewart is an avid gardener, growing more than 50 different species of fruit and vegetables.
