Dr. Silver is from Nova Scotia, Canada. She earned her veterinary degree from the Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island, Canada in 1995. She then completed a small animal medicine and surgery internship at Washington State University where she remained for a three-year residency in medical neurology and neurosurgery. Washington State University was the first veterinary hospital in the United States that had an in-house MRI unit, giving Dr. Silver more than 10 years of experience in using MRI as the primary imaging modality for neurologic patients. Following completion of her residency, she stayed on at Washington State for a one-year clinical instructor position in neurology and neurosurgery. Dr. Silver is board-certified in neurology by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. Dr. Silver is a member of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, American Veterinary Medical Association, and Massachusetts Veterinary Medical Association.
