Dr. Williams obtained her DVM from Universidad de Antioquia in Colombia in 1983. She completed a Tropical Animal Production Course in The Netherlands from 1985 – 1986. Prior to moving to the United States in 1999, Dr. Williams practiced for a Large Animal Practice and Rural Extension in Colombia. In 2001 Dr. Williams completed a rotating internship at the Tuskegee University in Alabama in 2001, followed, in 2003 – 2007 by a residency and combined MS in Pathology at the University of Georgia, in Athens. She became board certified in by the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists in 2008.
Prior to joining the IVG network of hospitals, Dr. Williams practiced at an ophthalmology practice in San Francisco, CA. Her love of a dynamic multi service practice environment and her family is what has lead her to Massachussetts and the IVG Network of Hospitals. She joined the Ophthalmology Department at Mass Vet in the Summer of 2010.
