Charlie received his Masters in Physical Therapy (2001) from Notre Dame College in Manchester, NH. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from Kenyon College and spent 8 years working as a veterinary technician. He returned to graduate school to earn his advanced degree in Physical Therapy with the intent of bringing these new skills and techniques into veterinary medicine. Charlie has been involved in the evolving field of Animal Physical Therapy since 1999. Before working full time in the animal field Charlie worked in outpatient settings specializing in orthopedics and aquatic therapy.
In December 2003 he became certified as a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner through the University of Tennessee. He is the national liaison coordinator for the Animal Physical Therapy Special Interest Group which is part of the Orthopaedic Section of the American Physical Therapy Association. In addition to speaking at several national and international symposiums on Animal Physical Therapy Charlie has published a study of Canine Gait in the Journal of Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy.
Prior to joining Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital in June 2007, Charlie was the Director of Rehabilitation at the Dover Veterinary Hospital in Dover, NH.
