This service is available at:
Bulger Veterinary Hospital

We provide specialized care for older pets. Diet, exercise, obesity management and preventative medicine are important aspects of caring for a geriatric dog or cat.

The term “geriatric” in veterinary medicine refers to the following age-ranges in the various breeds and species of pets:

  • Small dogs and cats older than 9
  • Medium to large dogs older than 7
  • Giant breed dogs older than 5

Geriatric pets have unique needs and are susceptible to several treatable diseases, ask your veterinarian about your concerns for your pet’s continued well being. In an effort to diagnose and treat these diseases early, we recommend comprehensive annual wellness testing, as well as targeted diagnostics as problems arise.
