What is a VideoVisit?
Using the Internet and a free videoconferencing program, you can see your pet in real-time from your home computer while they are staying at Mass Vet. Other hospitals will be adding this functionality soon.
Why would I choose to VideoVisit?
VideoVisits are ideal for many clients in a variety of situations. Visiting over the Internet is a great option for clients who may be unable to come to the hospital as often as they would like due to travel distance or other time commitments. In addition, VideoVisits do not interfere with ongoing medical treatments and are ideal for clients who are worried that their pets may become anxious after they leave.

Who can VideoVisit?
Almost every patient at Mass Vet can be scheduled for a VideoVisit. The Doctor in charge of your pet at Mass Vet will let you know if Video Visiting is not an option for your pet (which may be the case in some very critical patients).
How do I schedule an appointment?
VideoVisits are limited to 15 minutes and are available from 10am to 4am (18 hours per day). As with traditional, in-person visits, VideoVisits must be scheduled with your pet’s caretaker. At the scheduled time, you will need to be available at a computer or PDA to receive the VideoVisit. You do not need a camera on your computer to participate in a VideoVisit.
Technical Steps:
To use this service you will need a computer, or other device, with internet access and an ooVoo® account.
1. Go to www.ooVoo.com and download their free video conferencing software onto the computer or device you plan to use to view your pet.
2. Call to schedule a ½ hour time slot when you will be available to receive your call.
3. At the allotted time, a staff member will call you on the phone to verify your ooVoo® information and make sure you that you are ready and online.
4. Once this has been confirmed you will receive a call from a staff member, through the Internet, to your ooVoo® account.
5. After accepting our Video Visit invitation, you will be able to see your pet.
6. Our staff will remain on the phone in order to answer any questions you may have during the Video Visit.
