Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital Cuts Ribbon on New HospitalOctober 06, 2008
Portsmouth, NH Oct. 6, 2008 – Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital (Port City Vet) hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony on October 3, 2008 to mark the official opening of the new state of the art, 12,000 square foot, 24 hour emergency and specialty referral hospital in Portsmouth New Hampshire. In attendance to cut the ribbon was Deputy Mayor Jack Blalock, CEO of InTown Veterinary Group, G. Ames Prentiss, and over 180 guests from the veterinary and business community.
A long time pet owner himself, Deputy Mayor Jack Blalock stated in his remarks that he was “gratified to know that Portsmouth was home to an organization that would elevate the level of pet care available to members of the local community.” Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital in Portsmouth provides 24 hour emergency veterinary services for dogs and cats, seven days per week, in addition to board certified specialty services in internal medicine and surgery six days per week, ophthalmology and radiology, four days per week.
In relation to the team approach touted by veterinarians at InTown Veterinary Group hospitals, CEO, G. Ames Prentiss said of the referring veterinarian community in Portsmouth and the surrounding area: “We look forward to working together as stewards of the human-animal bond that is so strong in this region. With all of the advanced technology and cutting edge medical techniques at our disposal at Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital, it will be our ability to connect on an individual and personal level with pet owners, that will make the difference. “Veterinary medicine is small and there is much benefit to be derived by everyone through working together.” stated Prentiss, “being able to join forces with the well respected and quality group of people from Dover Animal Hospital has added a new and positive element to both the project and the organization”, he said in reference to the merger between InTown Veterinary Group and the specialists at Dover Veterinary Hospital.
Guests of Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital were treated to champagne, appetizers and tours of the new hospital.
