Dog’s ‘Devastating’ Struggle Ends in RescueMarch 21, 2017

QUECHEE – Local resident Sarah McDerment and her husband were engrossed in watching a movie one late night last week when they heard an alarming noise outside their condo that they assumed was a pack of coyotes.DogRescue

“It got almost painful sounding,” said McDerment in a recent interview. “It was just a screeching, howling noise.”

Little did she know that the howling was a local dog in serious trouble.

With her husband not feeling well, McDerment rushed outside by herself with a flashlight and discovered a female husky named Kia – as she later found out – trapped in the ice on the community pond in front of the condos in the Quechee Hollow development.
