Veterinary Assistant Program

Ethos Veterinary Health is proud to have created the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA) approved Ethos Veterinary Assistant ProgramGetFileAttachment which is provided at no cost to individuals hired as VA’s at Ethos hospitals.

Upon graduation from our program, Ethos VA’s who have completed the program are eligible to sit for the national Approved Veterinary Assistant (AVA) examination. With the successful completion of the exam, these individuals will become Approved Veterinary Assistants (AVA) and be recognized for their accomplishment with the AVA designation. This designation was created in 2010 and is currently used across the United States.

The Ethos Veterinary Assistant (VA) program encompasses a blended curriculum comprised of online, classroom, and hands-on training and is designed to prepare the VA for entry into a more formal veterinary technician program. Meeting specific curriculum goals to complete the Ethos VA training program is expected. Hands-on training is conducted at our state-of-the-art hospitals under the direct supervision of veterinary technicians and veterinarians. Prior veterinary hospital or animal experience is not required.

The primary responsibility of the VA is to provide support and assistance to the veterinary medical staff. The VA must embody the corporate culture of treating every client and colleague with the utmost courteous and attentive treatment possible, with a keen sensitivity to the emotional bond between owners and their pets.
