Veterinary Technicians- Portsmouth
Port City Veterinary Hospital (PCVRH) is seeking veterinary technicians for our Surgery and Emergency/Critical Care departments. Qualified candidates will have well-rounded experience and be proficient with phlebotomy, catheter placement, laboratory skills and radiographic techniques. Experience with anesthesia including intubation and surgical monitoring is preferred. Our technicians are involved with all aspects of client communication in person and over the phone. Candidates should have excellent communication and organizational skills and a desire to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
Minimum Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- CVT’s preferred but will strongly consider experienced non-CVT’s
- 2 years experience
Required skills and abilities:
- Experience with anesthesia
- Proficiency in venipuncture including peripheral IV catheter placement
- Competency in Patient Care
- Competency in lab sample handling and processing
- Proficiency in radiographic technique
- Solid communication skills
- Possess qualities in leadership, effectiveness, versatility, teamwork, accountability and an excellent work ethic
